Midway this life
"Midway this way of life we’re bound upon, I woke to find myself in a dark wood, Where the right road was wholly lost and gone." - Dorothy Sayers's translation of Dante Alighieri's Inferno: Canto I
I'm writing this blog on the vaguest notion that it'll be a good thing. I'm painting the walls in my colours with a determination not to worry about the thoughts and opinions of others on the matter. It won't be a diary but it will have my DNA in it. Midway through this life I am in something of a dark woods. But, instead of Virgil, I have Camus, guiding me through absurd-hell and he keeps reminding me to imagine Sisyphus happy. In fact, we're following him up the hill (repeatedly) as I write.
